Notes on Bord na nÓg Games for 2011
1. U/13 and U/14 Football, a size 4 ball must be used.
U/16 Football, a size 5 ball must be used.
2. A tee can be used by any player for kick-outs in U/14 and U/16 Football.
3. In U/12 and U/13 Football all kick-outs must be taken from the hand and from the
end line.
4. There is no square in U/12 and U/13 football and therefore no penalties can be
awarded.
5. U/13 Hurling, a size 3 sliothar must be used.
U/14 Hurling, a size 4 sliothar must be used
U/15 and U/16 Hurling, a size 5 sliothar must be used.
6. First named teams have home advantage unless venue is mentioned on fixture list.
7. Please adhere to the fixture list. Postponement will only be granted in extreme
circumstances such as the death of an immediate family member.
8. Final dates and times are provisional. Notice will only be given to clubs in the event
of a change from this booklet.
9. Duration of games
U/13 Hurling, 25 minutes a side, 50 minutes in total.
U/13 Football, 25 minutes a side, 50 minutes in total.
U/14 Football, 25 minutes a side, 50 minutes in total.
U/14 Hurling, 25 minutes a side, 50 minutes in total.
U/15 Hurling, 25 minutes a side, 50 minutes in total.
U/16 Hurling, 30 minutes a side, 60 minutes in total.
U/16 Football, 30 minutes a side, 50 minutes in total.
10. U/13 Football goals on the 13 metre line, goalkeeper cannot be challenged
11. U/13 Hurling goals on the 13 metre line.
12. U/14 Football, U/14 Hurling, U/15 and U/16 Hurling full size pitch.
13. Team sheets are mandatory and must be given to the referee not later than the
beginning of the second half. Failure to do so WILL result in the loss of the match.
14. Match results should be reported to the Secretary of the relevant Bord by the
Secretary of the club that win the match.
